Muere José Duarte, pintor miembro del Equipo 57

El pintor cordobés José Duarte ha fallecido en su casa de Madrid el día en que cumplía 89 años. El artista ha muerto en Madrid, ciudad en la que vivía desde los años ochenta y en la que será incinerado, aunque su entierro tendrá lugar en Córdoba.

José Duarte fue uno de los fundadores del Equipo 57, formado en París por los artistas Jorge Oteiza (1908-2003), Luis Aguilera (1924-2011), Ángel Duarte (1930-2007), Juan Serrano (Córdoba, 1929), Agustín Ibarrola (Bilbao, 1930) y Juan Cuenca (Puente Genil, 1934). Se convirtieron en referentes de la modernidad española, querían romper con la tradición del arte como patrimonio de unos pocos y con el régimen político del momento.
